New Student Design Center opens in Kansas Union

More Information

LAWRENCE — KU Student Senate, working with KU Memorial Unions, has launched a Student Design Center. Graphic design students have been employed to provide graphic design services to registered University of Kansas student clubs and organizations. The Student Senate and Coca-Cola have joined in funding SDC.

The Student Design Center is located on level five, room 570 of the Kansas Union. SDC students will custom-design a wide range of items, including logos, T-shirts, posters, fliers, handbills, web designs and more. The opportunity will enable the graphic design students to build their portfolio and gain experience working with clients.

Job request forms will be available online. Registered student groups will be offered three hours of free design time. After the limit has been met, SDC will charge a fee. This service will provide value to each organization seeking to brand themselves by creating an established and recognized identity.

Hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Student Design Center may be reached by email.

The KU Memorial Unions is a not-for-profit campus organization in the division of Student Affairs. It provides student programs, event and retail services to the KU community.
