KU School of Business alerted to potential money scam

More Information
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Business has been alerted to a potential money scam. An Ottawa resident has informed School of Business administration that young people are soliciting cash donations claiming to be KU business students.

These solicitors are telling people that the donations are for military care packages and that the School of Business is offering $2,000 to the students who collect the most money. The School of Business has no knowledge of this fundraising effort.

We have alerted KU's Office of Public Safety and Ottawa's police department. If you are solicited on behalf of someone claiming to be a KU business student, please inform local law enforcement immediately. For more information, contact Toni Dixon at 785-864-4449.
