KU Mini College is heading to Phoenix

LAWRENCE – The University of Kansas is taking its popular adult education retreat on the road to sunny Phoenix this February. Mini College invites all KU alumni and non-alumni alike to take part in the smartest trip you’ll ever take at its Winter Mini College on Feb. 1 and 2.

Winter Mini College offers adults with a thirst for learning the opportunity to rediscover the student experience. The weekend schedule includes presentations on topics that affect daily life, from art to environmental studies to strategies for cognitive decline and depression. The classes will be led by top KU faculty and alumni who are experts in their fields. The weekend will also feature a graduation lunch and a Jayhawk basketball watch party.

Registration is open now at the Mini College website, where participants can learn more about courses and activities offered during the weekend. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes will take place at the Camelback Inn.

At just $350 per person or $600 per couple, the registration fee covers courses, special events, extracurricular activities and all meals. Accommodations have been arranged at a significant discount at Camelback Inn for participants.  Mention “University of Kansas Mini College” when booking accommodations.

Winter Mini College is a condensed version of the weeklong, summer Mini College program, which has earned the reputation as a “summer camp for adults.” Mini College has been hosted annually by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences since the summer of 2009, drawing more than 125 participants each year. Winter Mini College is co-sponsored by the KU Alumni Association.
