LAWRENCE — To better understand the University of Kansas student community’s attitudes and experiences related to sexual harassment, which includes sexual violence, the university is asking students to take part in a sexual harassment climate survey.

Emails went out to students earlier this week. Faculty and staff can also encourage students to take the survey online.

The Office of Institutional Opportunity & Access has conducted climate surveys each year since its creation in 2012. The short survey asks students for their thoughts and beliefs about sexual harassment and sexual violence. This year, IOA also is piloting a longer form of the survey using language modeled by the White House in its effort to combat campus sexual harassment.

Information obtained from this study will give the university a clearer picture of the campus climate and what effective prevention efforts look like.
