Chancellor to honor top achievers from area high schools
LAWRENCE — University of Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little will honor Lawrence-area high school students at the Chancellor's Top Scholar Reception, set for Thursday, April 30.
More than 100 high-achieving sophomores and juniors at Lawrence's four high schools will attend, along with family members and guests.
The schedule is as follows:
4:30 p.m. Meet-and-greet with student honorees, the chancellor, and KU students, staff and administrators.
5 p.m. Formal remarks of congratulation and encouragement from the chancellor and Rodi Torres-Gavosto, a Free State High School and KU alumnus and Goldwater Scholar.
The event will take place at Spooner Hall, 1340 Jayhawk Blvd. A local jazz quartet led by Tommy Johnson Jr. will perform at the event.
