LAWRENCE — University of Kansas Women’s Golf Coach Erin O’Neil has teamed up with Audio-Reader to chair the nonprofit organization’s sixth annual Golf Classic, which will take place May 18 at Alvamar Country Club.

O’Neil has coached at KU for 11 years, and two of her team members have finished in the top five at the Big 12 Championship so far this spring, with one player continuing on to the compete as an individual in the 2015 NCAA Regional in San Antonio this month. O’Neil’s energy and enthusiasm, which helped her coach her team to the NCAA Championship last year, has invigorated the Audio-Reader golf planning committee.

“We are extremely grateful to Erin for chairing the tournament,” said Randy Austin, the chair of Audio-Reader’s Development Committee. “With her help, we are slated to have the most successful tournament to date.”

Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring or playing in the tournament should contact Feloniz Lovato-Winston at 785-864-5336 or fwinston@ku.edu. For more information about Audio-Reader, visit reader.ku.edu or call (785) 864-4600.

Offered as a public service by KU, Audio-Reader is a reading and information service for blind and print-disabled individuals throughout Kansas and western Missouri. The Kansas Audio-Reader Network exists to provide print-disabled citizens with access to the printed word and other information via closed-circuit radio and telephone reader broadcasts, internet, special requests and audio-description of live theatre. Services are provided free of charge to enable print-disabled persons the opportunity to live their lives with the greatest possible personal independence.
