LAWRENCE — The dedication of two new University of Kansas residence halls — Self Hall and Oswald Hall — will be 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in the Daisy Hill Commons, 1620 Engel Road. A reception and tours of the buildings will follow the dedication. Featured speakers include KU Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and Jeffrey S. Vitter, executive vice chancellor and provost.

The two residence halls have names that honor three of the university's most generous benefactors. One of the halls is named after the late Madison “Al” and Lila Self, the single most generous donors in KU history. The other is named for the late Charley Oswald, who ranks among the top five donors to KU.
