University community mourns death of undergraduate Jianzhi Xiao
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas community is mourning the death of student Jianzhi Xiao. He died May 13 in Lawrence.
Xiao came to KU from China. He was a junior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in pre-pharmacy.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of one of our students,” said Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little. “On behalf of the entire KU community, I offer my sincere condolences to Jianzhi Xiao’s family and friends as they mourn this heartbreaking loss. We wish them comfort during this difficult time.”
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. May 22 at Danforth Chapel.
