LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas community is remembering Nathaniel Naudet, a chemical and petroleum engineering student. Naudet died May 17 near Flagstaff, Arizona.

“On behalf of the entire KU community, I want to express my profound sorrow at the death of Nathaniel Naudet,” said Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little. “We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time.”

Naudet was from Tujunga, California. While at KU he lived in K.K. Amini Scholarship Hall.

"Nate had an infectious smile and a true desire to do good in the world that carried into everything he did,” said Dawn Shew, a director of undergraduate studies with the School of Engineering who advised Naudet. “His service to others was exemplary, and he was a valued, well-liked member of the School of Engineering community.”

Services are May 28 in Tujunga.
