KU selling three Steinway pianos

LAWRENCE – The University of Kansas School of Music is selling three pianos to make room for new ones.

The three Steinway B Model pianos have been used mostly by students and instructors in practice rooms in Murphy Hall, home of the KU School of Music.

The pianos are being auctioned online at govdeals.com, a preferred vendor of KU Surplus that provides online auction services to various government agencies. Below are the direct links to the three pianos:

The auction for each piano ends March 23.

The pianos are being auctioned, not sold directly, because state property must be sold through a competitive bidding process.

Buyers who have questions about the pianos should contact Vince Mrykalo at pianotech@ku.edu.

KU Surplus, a unit within Procurement Services at KU, will pick up reusable furniture and office supplies from the Lawrence campus free of charge in accordance with the KU Surplus Property Recycling Procedure. Surplus items are then available for purchase by other departments, or available for donation to nonprofit organizations. By working with campus departments and local nonprofits, the university is able to redistribute surplus that would otherwise be discarded.

To search for additional items, visit KU Surplus or call 785-393-4256.
