Presentations planned as part of Graduate Student Appreciation Week

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas is recognizing the work of graduate students to the university with a range of events during national Graduate Student Appreciation Week, April 3-7, and throughout the month of April.

“Graduate students bring so much energy and ideas to the campus to stimulate our scholarship and teaching,” said Michael Roberts, dean of graduate studies. “Graduate Student Appreciation Week is our recognition that they constitute about one-fourth of the students at KU and thus contribute significantly to our mission.”

About 150 students will present research on a range of topics at the annual Graduate Research Competition on Thursday, April 6, Ballroom of the Kansas Union. The campus community is invited to attend and share in an afternoon of poster and oral presentation sessions.

More events will take place over the course of the week and throughout April, including programs on diversity, research, writing, grant development and more. A schedule of events is available on the Graduate Student Appreciation Week website.
