Postdoc researchers to present work at annual symposium

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Postdoctoral Association (KUPA) will host the fifth-annual research symposium from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 27. The symposium, supported by the Office of Research, will feature a keynote talk, research presentations and a networking luncheon in the Kansas and Malott rooms of the Kansas Union.

The event will start with a keynote talk by Susan Marriott, who will deliver a presentation titled “Evolution of a Career in Science: Opportunities, Choices, and Passions.” She is professor of virology and microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine and president of Bioscience Writers LLC.

KU postdoc researchers will showcase their work at sessions for both oral lectures, featuring nine presenters, as well as poster presentations on a range of research topics. The presenters will also have a chance to win a prize at the event. The networking luncheon will offer attendees the opportunity to meet and mingle with scientists and local professionals.
