KPR wins 7 broadcasting awards

LAWRENCE — Kansas Public Radio, based at the University of Kansas, earned seven individual awards from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) this year. KPR earned honors in the news, commentary, programming and website categories.

The station captured one first place award, three second place awards and three honorable mentions in the statewide contest.

The KAB announced the award winners Aug. 14, but the actual awards will be handed out during the KAB's annual convention Oct. 15-17 in Manhattan.
