University community remembers longtime employee Judy Farmer

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas community is remembering Judy Farmer, an employee of the university of more than 26 years who died in March.

Farmer began a career at the university in 1991. During her time at KU, she worked the comptroller’s office, KU Parking, the Department of African & African American Studies, Networking and Telecom Services, the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies, the Shared Service Center for the College and professional schools, and most recently, the Office of Research.

“Judy Farmer was a true Jayhawk,” said Chancellor Douglas A. Girod. “We appreciate her dedicated service to her alma mater throughout her more than 26 years working in the KU Center for Research and other academic departments and centers. On behalf of the entire university, I express my sincere condolences to her family, friends and many KU colleagues.”

Farmer was inurned at Pioneer Cemetery on the Lawrence campus. Memorial contributions may be made to KU Endowment, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., Mail Stop 3012, Kansas City, KS 66160, to benefit ovarian cancer research.
