US News & World Report highlights KU online programs in 2019 rankings


LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas has three programs ranked among the nation’s best in the 2019 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Programs,” released today.

The university’s online MBA program is ranked 20th among public universities, a significant jump from 48 last year. KU’s online education program is tied for 33rd among public universities, down slightly from 27th last year. At the medical center, KU’s online nursing program is tied for 29th among public universities.

“Online offerings have become increasingly important throughout higher education, and we are glad to see KU programs recognized in this arena,” Chancellor Douglas A. Girod said. “While we celebrate these successes, we remain focused on our broader mission to educate leaders, build healthy communities and make discoveries that change the world.”

In addition to today’s “Best Online Programs” rankings, U.S. News & World Report releases its “Best Graduate Schools” rankings each March and its “Best Colleges” rankings in September. In the most recent graduate rankings, KU has 46 programs ranked in the top 50. In the most recent college rankings, KU ranks 61st among public universities.
