Alumnus to present inaugural KU Addiction Center Lecture

LAWRENCE — The Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment will launch its spring seminar series with a talk by University of Kansas alumnus Stephen Higgins at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union.

Higgins, the Virginia H. Donaldson Professor of Translational Science at the University of Vermont, will present “Applying Behavioral Economics to the Study and Treatment of Drug Addiction.” The talk will also be live-streamed at the Cofrin Logan website. 

Higgins earned his master’s and doctoral degrees at KU.

“This lecture series is intended to promote collaboration among researchers at KU-Lawrence, across KU campuses and with other institutions, as well as to facilitate scholarly and professional development of researchers, students and clinicians,” said Richard Yi, director of the Cofrin Logan Center. The center, established in 2018, is a part of the KU Life Span Institute.
