Bad science is bubbling up at KPR’s Cinema a Go-Go

LAWRENCE — Mad scientists, crawling hands and disembodied heads take over the next Cinema a Go-Go, hosted by Kansas Public Radio, Feb. 7 at Liberty Hall.

The first film of the double feature, “The Crawling Hand” (1963) is a memorably awful science fiction thriller about the hand of an astronaut who dies in space. Possessed by an alien life form, the crawling hand falls to Earth and promptly starts strangling people left and right.

The second feature, “The Brain That Wouldn't Die” is a 1962 no-budget shocker about a sinister surgeon who develops a means of keeping human body parts alive.

General admission tickets are $10 and are available for purchase at the Liberty Hall box office. Doors open at 6 p.m.The first show starts at 7 p.m.
