Two KU administrators will serve with national organizations

LAWRENCE — Two University of Kansas administrators will play influential roles in higher education operations and practices around the country.

The Higher Learning Commission invited Jason Hornberger, associate vice provost for administration and finance, to be a member of the Peer Corps as a reviewer for the HLC. The commission accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region of the United States. Hornberger was selected for service in the Open Pathway and Standard Pathways reviews. As a Peer Corps member, he will have an opportunity to broaden his experience and gather new ideas from the institutions he visits while also assuring and improving quality in higher education. The position begins with a two-year term and, after review, Hornberger will be eligible for a subsequent four-year term.

The National Association of College and University Business Officers invited Diane Goddard, vice provost for administration and finance, to join the NACUBO Research Universities Council. The RUC was established to ensure that issues of specific concern to research universities are represented and addressed in the development of the association’s strategic goals and plans and in the creation of programs, products and services for members. The council also serves as an advisory body to the NACUBO president and staff by providing suggestions, feedback and support for the association’s goals and activities. Goddard’s term is Aug. 1 through July 31, 2017, and is renewable for up to three years.
