KU Libraries open Software Carpentry registration

LAWRENCE — KU Libraries, along with key partners, are pleased to announce an upcoming Software Carpentry workshop. Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get work done in less time by teaching basic research computing skills. The workshop will take place Aug. 16-17 in the Price Computing Center Auditorium.

In this two-day workshop, participants will learn how to automate tasks using the Unix shell, how to track and share work using version control and how to write software in Python that is readable, reusable and reliable.

The event is held in partnership with the Great Plains NetworkKanREN and KU Information Technology.

This workshop is open to faculty, staff and students across disciplines. No prior experience is expected or required.
