LAWRENCE — A new art event at the University of Kansas, titled [show your work], offers a weeklong opportunity for KU students and affiliates to exhibit and document their work in the Art + Design Gallery. Space is limited and reserved for a 1-2 day exhibition cycle on a first-come, first-shown basis. Artists will install their work in prefabricated locations within the gallery made to accommodate sculpture and wall work. Ticketed artist contracts will be exchanged, and artists will be included in the exhibition's participants catalog.

Artists do not have to pay a juried fee, win an award or be approved by a curator or gallerist.

To participate: Individuals interested in showing their work need to bring their piece to the gallery and fill out a short contract about their work. Contracts will be available in the Art + Design Gallery on Sunday, Feb. 10, during normal gallery hours. Work will come down in two cycles: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. All remaining work must be removed by 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.

Organizers: This event is co-facilitated by KU MFA candidates Sara Muhlhausen and Sarah Pickett as well as Hashinger Hall Artist-in-Residence Kevin Brophy.

The Art & Design Gallery is located in Chalmers Hall. Gallery hours are 1-4:30 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday. The gallery is closed on Saturday.
