Media advisory: KU professor available to speak about European financial crisis

More Information

WHAT: Jide Wintoki, assistant professor of finance in the KU School of Business, is available to speak with media about the ongoing European financial crisis.

Italy's bond yields passed 7 percent this morning, breaching a financial and psychological point at which markets consider countries at risk of being unable to fund themselves. This could have disastrous implications for the European Union and could also adversely affect U.S. markets.

WINTOKI CAN DISCUSS: Wintoki’s research expertise involves finance, specifically corporate governance and international finance. He has recently published on topics such as the dynamics of internal corporate governance, forecasting abnormal stock returns and trading volume, and the effect of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the exchange listing requirements on firm value.
