Mary Fry to give annual education Budig lecture
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Education welcomes Mary Fry, associate professor in the Department of Health, Sport & Exercise Sciences, as the 2018 Budig Teaching Professorship award recipient and featured lecturer.
The lecture, “A Caring Climate: My Foundation for Teaching & Life,” will be given by Fry at 4:30 p.m. May 2 in 150 Joseph R. Pearson Hall. A casual reception will immediately follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public.
Fry currently serves as an associate professor in sport & exercise psychology. She is also the director of KU’s Sport & Exercise Psychology Lab, and her research interests focus on the benefits of creating a caring and task-involving climate for those involved (e.g., coaches, athletes, exercise leaders) in sport and physical activity settings.
Fry also serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology. More information about Fry can be found here.
