Ethics expert to deliver 2018 Sutton Lecture

LAWRENCE — Keith Darcy, an independent senior adviser to Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Enterprise Compliance Services practice, will deliver the University of Kansas School of Business Walter S. Sutton Ethics Lecture at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at Capitol Federal Hall.

The lecture, which will be held in the Dicus Family Auditorium, 1111 Capitol Federal Hall, is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

In his role with Deloitte, which also includes serving as a dean for the Chief Compliance Officer Lab Program, Darcy works with boards and senior leaders to identify, monitor, mitigate and manage enterprise risks. Prior to joining Deloitte, he served nine years as executive director of the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association. In that capacity, he helped organizations worldwide address a wide variety of complex compliance, governance and regulatory challenges.

Darcy has combined a 40-year career as a senior executive and corporate director with his passion for education, business ethics, compliance risk management and organizational leadership. He is on the board of the Notre Dame Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership. Since 1994, Darcy has been teaching Ethics and Leadership at the Wharton School in its executive programs. He previously served as associate dean and distinguished professor at Georgetown University.

The Sutton Ethics Lecture Series is held in memory of Walter Sutton, a 1939 School of Business alumnus. Before his death in 1985, he devoted much of his time to civic organizations. This lecture series highlights the importance of ethics and value systems in business.
