Bales Choral Society seeks new members for 2026-27

LAWRENCE — The Bales Choral Society is looking for new members for the 2026-27 school year.

University of Kansas faculty, staff and students who join the choral help build community across all segments of the university and help provide choral music students with real ensemble experience.

The choral will present concerts at the end of the fall and spring semesters and is led by Wolfgang Reisinger, visiting professor in the School of Music.

Singing interviews for anyone interested in joining the choir will be conducted from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24-26. Singers should prepare a song of their choice and should bring that music to the interview. Interviewees also will be asked to sight read.

Rehearsals for the fall begin Sept. 14 and will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Mondays when classes are in session in the Murphy Hall choral rehearsal room.
