KU School of Music’s popular Collage Concert returns Sept. 25 to support music students
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas School of Music has announced the return of its most popular event of the year, the annual Collage Concert, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Lied Center of Kansas.

The showcase draws together an array of talent from the KU School of Music in one evening. This year’s event features performances from several award-winning ensembles, including the Chamber Choir, which recently took top honors at an international choir competition in Slovakia; the American-Prize nominated Wind Ensemble; KU Symphony Orchestra and opera department. Audiences will also see a performance from Jazz Ensemble I, which just received a record number of awards at the Downbeat Student Music Awards.
The grand finale features the renowned Marching Jayhawks in a signature rousing entry. As one of the event's most memorable highlights, it’s guaranteed to have the crowd on its feet, clapping along and showing their Jayhawk pride, according to organizers.

“Collage captures the spirit of this school like nothing else. It is a celebration of our students' talent and dedication, but it is also a testament to a community that believes in them,” said Interim Dean Christopher Johnson. “The support generated by this event makes life-changing opportunities possible, from international performances to presenting research at national conferences. When you sit in the audience, you become part of that story, helping our students carry their dreams well beyond Lawrence.”
All proceeds from the Collage Concert benefit the Student Opportunity Fund, which provides vital financial support for School of Music students participating in competitions, presentations and conferences across the nation and around the world. Donations can also be made online at the KU Endowment Collage fund webpage.
Admission to the Collage Concert is free for students, children and seniors and $14 for adults. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available on the Lied Center’s website.
