Military aircraft to fly over KU campus Thursday, Friday in advance of football game
LAWRENCE — Military jets will fly over the University of Kansas Lawrence campus Thursday, Sept. 3, and Friday, Sept. 4, in advance of Friday’s football game between KU and Long Island University.
At noon Thursday, a team of two T-38 Talons will fly a practice run over David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
On Friday evening, the aircraft will again fly over the stadium a few minutes prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff between the Jayhawks and the Sharks.
The flyovers will be conducted by the 509th Bomb Wing out of Whiteman Air Force Base near Warrensburg, Missouri.
