Public invited to annual Inclusive Recreation Extravaganza
LAWRENCE — KU Recreation Services and community organizations will co-host the second annual Inclusive Recreation Extravaganza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center.
KU Recreation Services is partnering with Special Olympics of Kansas and Douglas County; Midwest Adaptive Sports, which includes WheelHawks; and Kansas School for the Blind for participation in these events, which include wheelchair handball, wheelchair basketball, sit volleyball, goal ball and mindfulness yoga. Brady Tanner, three-time Special Olympics gold medalist, will give a power-lift demo, and therapy dogs will make an appearance.
The event is free, and the public is invited to participate.
