KU names new director of Sorority & Fraternity Life

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas has named Ethan Stubbs II as its Sorority & Fraternity Life director. He begins in the role July 27.

“I look forward to joining the KU family and continuing the work of an inclusive sorority and fraternity experience for all students,” Stubbs said. “I am excited to learn and contribute to the vibrant community.”

Following the recommendations of the chancellor’s Sorority & Fraternity Life Task Force earlier this year, Sorority & Fraternity Life is a freestanding unit within Student Affairs reporting to Associate Vice Provost Jane Tuttle.

Sorority & Fraternity Life is a resource for more than 4,000 KU students and their 47 fraternal organizations. Each of its chapters is a member of one of the four governing councils: the Interfraternity Council, the Multicultural Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Panhellenic Association. Sorority & Fraternity Life guides members and their chapters with aspects of the community from recruitment to officer training to learning outcomes in areas like scholarship, community involvement and decision-making. 

Stubbs comes to KU from George Washington University, where he worked for that institution’s Fraternity & Sorority Life as an area coordinator and later as assistant director. 

Before that, he was the greek life house director for Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Kentucky and previously worked for Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity headquarters in Indianapolis.
