Final candidate for Architecture, Design & Planning dean to give presentation Wednesday


LAWRENCE — The fourth and final candidate for dean of the School of Architecture, Design & Planning at the University of Kansas will give a public presentation 1-2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at The Forum in Marvin Hall with a reception immediately following.

Bruce Stiftel is professor of city and regional planning and chair of the School of City and Regional Planning at Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Planning Accreditation Board, the Steering Committee of UN-Habitat’s University Network Initiative and the editorial boards of International Planning Studies, Journal of the American Planning Association, Planning Theory and Town Planning Review. He is a former president of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning and founding chairperson of the Global Planning Education Association Network.

Ann Brill, dean of the William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communications, led the search committee for the candidates. During their visit to campus, candidates will give a public presentation followed by a reception to provide the campus community an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the committee. Candidates will be announced 48 hours prior to their campus presentation.
