KU community invited to attend KU Remembers, an event honoring late Jayhawks

LAWRENCE — KU Student Affairs has announced that it will host KU Remembers, an event to honor University of Kansas students, employees or retirees who have passed away since Aug. 1, 2019. This event will take place at 3:30 p.m. April 24 at the Kansas Room in the Kansas Union.

The ceremony will feature welcoming remarks and a reading of names, followed by time for silent meditation and conversation with other members of the community. A printed program with the names of the deceased will be provided for attendees. Danforth Chapel will also be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for reflection, and the Memorial Campanile will be darkened at dusk to honor those being remembered. The event is open to all members of the KU community.

This event had previously been scheduled before the COVID-19 pandemic but was postponed. View the calendar event for more information.
