LAWRENCE — Erin Swain, management and program analyst with the U.S. General Services Administration, will speak at the Federal Careers for Young Professionals presentation from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Dole Institute of Politics.

Swain will discuss her experience as a federal employee and share tips to help KU students pursue a career with the federal government. After Swain’s speech, she will be available for individual conversations at the Public Service Career Fair that will take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. that day.

Swain is a management and program analyst working on human capital initiatives at the GSA. She also works as a program manager for a two-year professional development intern program at the Federal Acquisition Service and is the overall lead budget analyst for the Office of Administration at FAS.

Swain has a bachelor’s degree in business and finance as well as a master’s degree in communications, both from North Carolina State University. She recently received her MBA from Marymount University in May 2010.

“KU is fortunate to have a talented professional like Erin Swain come to campus to share her experiences and expertise,” said David Gaston, director of the University Career Center. “KU students will learn a great deal from Erin regarding federal career options and what it's like to be a federal employee.”
