LAWRENCE — John Poggio, professor of psychology and research, and Neal Kingston, associate professor of psychology and research in education at the University of Kansas School of Education, are available to speak with media about Kansas’ application for a waiver from the No Child Left Behind Act requirements.

Poggio’s research expertise involves educational assessment and policy, as well as large-scale assessment. Kingston is director of KU’s Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation. He performs research in educational measurement and research methodology.

Tuesday, the Kansas State Board of Education voted to apply in February for a waiver of the requirements of the federal program. The U.S. Department of Education has said it will grant waivers to the requirement if states can meet a series of requirements.
