Kaci Haney

Kaci Haney
Title: Accountant, Campus Administration and Operations Shared Service Center

What that means: Haney is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions for the departments she serves. She assists with budget issues, KUPPS purchases, travel, purchase card purchases, billing, deposits, grant purchases, and more. She works 50 percent with the budget manager for Shared Service Center Administration assisting with budget issues and the other 50 percent for her department.

Notable: In addition to her job tasks, Haney handles a lot of special projects such as bond payments, fee distribution, sales tax, and more.  To add to handling these projects, she created job aids for each of these special projects to assist others in completing the tasks associated with these projects without any issues.  Haney also took the lead on interviewing and hiring the first student employees in the CAO SSC.  She has since supervised students and even developed a student employee handbook for the department.  When the CAO SSC was turning one year old, Haney spearheaded a committee of employees to host a one year birthday breakfast for the director and the finance managers as a way for saying thank you.  It was a huge surprise to the director and managers Haney also has gone above and beyond to assist the associate vice provost of Human Resource Management with the budget. She exceeded the expectations of her position by not only providing budget support but by going through the budget with a fine tooth comb with HRM leadership looking for best ways to allocate funds.

Ronda Morgison
Title: Administrative associate, University Registrar

What that means: Morgison has worked for the University Registrar for over 10 years and has been with the university since 1997.  In her position, Morgison is responsible for coordinating the setup of the schedule of classes.  She maintains course information in the University Course Catalog and works to train department scheduling officers in Green Scheduling.  More than 7,000 classes are scheduled per semester, and Morgison’s ability to handle the task of scheduling all classes and her attention to detail is nearly flawless.

Notable: When complicated scheduling issues arise, problems have to be resolved on the spot. Morgison frequently receives calls that begin with “I made a really dumb mistake," but Morgison is able to not only help the individual calling, she is also able to provide suggestions and restore their confidence. She always coordinates the resolution of the problem with the least negative effect on students. She always keeps a cool head, which can be understandably difficult during enrollment when thousands of students are enrolling in the 7,000 classes available. Morgison is patient and supportive of departmental scheduling officers and manages to keep them smoothly moving through the complicated enrollment and scheduling process. She is known by the faculty and staff that she works with as being the “go-to” person for questions relating to the course catalog, the term schedule of classes, and trouble-shooting scheduling issues.
