KPR's ‘Trail Mix’ presents a virtual concert with Ordinary Elephant

LAWRENCE – Kansas Public Radio's “Trail Mix” will present its first virtual concert with the talented folk duo Ordinary Elephant. The virtual concert will take place at 7 p.m. May 28.

Ordinary Elephant won the 2017 International Folk Music Awards by captivating audiences with their emotionally powerful and vulnerable songs, letting the listener know that they are not alone in this world. The collaboration of husband and wife Pete and Crystal Damore, their connection and their influences (such as Gillian Welch, Guy Clark, Anais Mitchell) all meet on stage. The Associated Press called their latest work, “Honest,” “one of the best Americana albums of the year.”

“Trail Mix” host Bob McWilliams noted that it is important to promote and host artists during the COVID-19 pandemic through virtual support. Tickets are $10 with an option to give extra funding to the band and KPR through the "virtual tip jar." More information is available on kansaspublicradio.org or on the Kansas Public Radio Facebook page under events.
