Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity invites KU community to opening of Pregnant & Parenting Resource Pantry

LAWRENCE — The Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity has announced that its Pregnant & Parenting Resource Pantry Premiere will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 6 in Suite 1040 of the Burge Union.

The Pregnant & Parenting Resource Pantry will provide free material goods such as toiletries, infant clothing, baby bottles and diapers to University of Kansas students who are pregnant and/or parenting. The Emily Taylor Center continues to accept donations to the pantry as well. Interested donors can access its wish list here and bring donations to the center.

“This initiative is significant in providing equity to pregnant and parenting students in the campus community,” said Nikita Haynie, Emily Taylor center director. “Having access to free resources will continue to support the success of our caregiving students. We are excited to continue ensuring our students have what they need and deserve.”

Brief remarks will begin at 2:15 p.m. Refreshments will be provided at the free and public event, and more information is available online.

The Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity is committed to supporting the health and wellness of pregnant and parenting students at KU and acknowledges that material resources are essential to the success of caregiving students.
