Artificial intelligence in article content
All news stories, articles and other content created by KU must be truthful, verified and of high quality, adhering to journalistic standards. AI may be helpful in idea generation, copyediting, formatting or similar tasks. AI should not be used to entirely or significantly write stories.
All facts, quotes and other objective information sourced using AI must be confirmed by a capable KU employee. Quotes for KU News stories should never be generated by AI.
If AI is used at any point in the creative process, the final deliverable must be reviewed by a KU employee and must meet all KU standards, guidelines and policies as well as applicable regulations and laws. It is the responsibility of the person/s creating the news story to make sure standards are met. Please also review the AI use in KU marketing and communications guidelines.
Note that KU News Service is following Associated Press guidelines around artificial intelligence as they evolve. As such, KU News may make changes to stories and art or ask you to make such changes to conform to those guidelines for external media partners.
