‘105 Live’ invites listeners to session recording at The Bottleneck

LAWRENCE — Join “105 Live” host Nick Carswell and five Kansas artists Feb. 8 for an evening of live performances at The Bottleneck. From solo singer-songwriters to instrumental alt rock, pop and funk, enjoy an eclectic evening of showcase performances with Kansas Public Radio and the Kansas music community.

All performances will be recorded live for future broadcast on KPR's local music show, "105 Live." With their attendance, concertgoers will have a chance to be included in KPR's broadcast audience and hear themselves on the radio.

The concert will feature performances by Kat King, The Yards, Lauren Lovelle & The Midnight Spliffs, Yae and Aud Whitson. Doors will open at 7 p.m.; the show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door on the night of the show.

"105 Live" is a contemporary music show, showcasing new and noteworthy music from all 105 counties in Kansas, Allen through Wyandotte. The program celebrates and promotes music made in Kansas, hosted by Carswell, an Irish native who has lived in Lawrence since 2011. The station aims to highlight the talented musicians who call the Sunflower State home.

The show’s aspirational goal is to find music from each county, and submissions are open. Interested Kansas artists can submit music using this form or can mail EPKs and media releases to kansas105live@gmail.com. Please do not send mp3s directly, but include a download link to broadcast quality WAV files. If you are from Kansas or have a Kansas connection, include the information in the submission.
