Fourth candidate for vice provost for diversity and equity to visit KU
LAWRENCE — The fourth and final candidate for vice provost for diversity and equity will visit the University of Kansas and host a public forum Friday, June 28.
Bernard Oliver, program coordinator of education leadership and professor in the School of Human Development & Organizational Studies in Education at the University of Florida, will make a presentation and take questions from the KU community. Oliver’s presentation will begin at 10:30 am Friday, June 28, in the Malott Room of the Kansas Union.
A vice provost for diversity and equity is specifically called for in Bold Aspirations, the university’s five-year strategic plan. The leadership position guides the promotion of and support for a diverse and inclusive community of mutual respect. The new vice provost will replace Fred Rodriguez, who is retiring this month.
