Nominations sought for Proud to Be a Jayhawk funding recipients
LAWRENCE — The Office of Public Affairs at the University of Kansas is seeking project requests for the proceeds of the Proud To Be A Jayhawk tailgating fundraiser.
Kansas Athletics will again donate the proceeds from KU football program sales to assist KU department or student-led initiatives. More than $50,000 has been raised through the fundraiser since the promotion began in 2001. Past beneficiaries include the BullDoc Free Clinic through the KU Medical Center, the Marching Jayhawks, Math and Science Center, Mi Familia Program and the Center for Community Outreach, to name a few. The Big Event and the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic for the School of Law were the 2013 recipients.
Interested KU departments and/or student groups should submit their project requests to the Office of Public Affairs at publicaffairs@ku.edu by July 1. Information submitted should include: KU sponsor and contact information, project/program initiative, reason to request the funds, whom the program benefits, in 200 words or less. Proceed recipients will be contacted by Aug. 1.
