Dean candidate for Architecture, Design & Planning to host presentation, reception
LAWRENCE — The first of four candidates for dean of the School of Architecture, Design & Planning at the University of Kansas will give a public presentation from 4:15-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, in The Forum in Marvin Hall. A reception will follow.
Mahesh Daas is chair of the Department of Architecture at Ball State University, a position he has held since 2008. Prior to joining Ball State, Daas served as the associate dean for academic affairs and research of the College of Architecture at the University of Texas at San Antonio and as a visiting assistant professor at Kansas State University. He also worked with professional firms in Chicago and Kansas City (Gould Evans Goodman Associates).
Ann Brill, dean of the William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communications, led the search committee for the candidates. During their visit to campus, candidates will give a public presentation followed by a reception to provide the campus community an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the committee. Candidates will be announced 48 hours prior to their campus visit.
