Second candidate for dean of Architecture, Design & Planning to host public presentation


LAWRENCE — The second of four candidates for dean of the School of Architecture, Design & Planning at the University of Kansas will give a public presentation from 1-2:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at The Forum in Marvin Hall. A reception will follow.

David Edelman is professor of planning and was director of the School of Planning for 11 years at the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning of the University of Cincinnati. He was formerly chairman of the Department of Urban Environmental Management at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) of Erasmus University, Rotterdam. Professionally certified in the U.S., Switzerland and the Netherlands, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ohio State chapter of the American Planning Association and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Ann Brill, dean of the William Allen White School of Journalism & Mass Communications, led the search committee for the candidates. During their visit to campus, candidates will give a public presentation followed by a reception to provide the campus community an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the committee. Candidates will be announced 48 hours prior to their campus visit.
