Nominations sought for tailgating fundraiser recipients
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Office of Public Affairs is seeking project requests for the proceeds of the Proud To Be A Jayhawk tailgating fundraiser.
Kansas Athletics will again donate the proceeds from KU football program sales to assist KU department or student-led initiatives. More than $50,000 has been raised through the Proud To Be A Jayhawk tailgating fundraiser since the promotion began in 2001. Past beneficiaries include the BullDoc Free Clinic through the KU Medical Center, the Marching Jayhawks, Math and Science Center, Mi Familia Program, Center for Community Outreach to name a few. The 2014 recipients were Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and the Big Event
Interested KU departments and/or student groups should submit their project requests to the Office of Public Affairs at publicaffairs@ku.edu by July 6. Information submitted should include: KU sponsor and contact information, project/program initiative, reason to request the funds, who the program benefits, in 200 words or less. Proceed recipients will be contacted by Aug. 14.
