"Finding 'Sex in the Heartland'" presentation set for Oct. 7

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Libraries will host a Gallery Lecture Series event from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7,
in Watson Library, Third Floor West.

Foundation Distinguished History Professor Beth Bailey will present “Finding ‘Sex in the Heartland.’" The program will address the story of Lawrence’s sexual revolution and why it may be intrinsically interesting to those who live here, as well as those who don’t. Topics will include “Why write about a small college town in the middle of the country? And how does one ‘find’ sex?”

The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. No RSVP is necessary.

The Gallery Lecture Series highlights major exhibitions in Watson Library’s Haricombe Gallery, contributing to the campus culture of engaged scholarship.
