U.S. News & World Report highlights KU graduate programs in 2018 rankings
LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas has 10 graduate programs ranked in the top 10 and 42 in the top 50 among public universities in the 2018 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” rankings released today.
“Rankings are one way to determine how we are performing relative to our peers, and these U.S. News rankings highlight our successes in graduate programs across our university,” said Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little. “We celebrate these successes and remain focused on our university’s mission to build healthy communities, educate leaders and make discoveries that change the world.”
KU’s special education program retained its top ranking among public schools, while the university’s city management and urban policy program continues to be ranked No. 1 among all universities. The city management program has maintained its top ranking since 1998.
The university’s doctoral program in history jumped seven spots among public universities in this year’s ranking, to 20th place.
KU’s environmental/environmental health engineering and electrical engineering programs jumped 11 and seven spots, respectively, to join the top-50 ranks among public schools this year, and KU’s secondary teacher education program was newly ranked in the 16th spot among public schools.
