Military aircraft to fly over campus Thursday, Friday in advance of football game


LAWRENCE – Military jets will fly over campus at least twice this week in advance of the university’s Friday night football game.

A group of four T-38 Talon jets will fly over David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Sept. 1 approximately 10 minutes before kickoff of the Jayhawks’ season opener against Missouri State at 7 p.m. The T-38s will do a practice run over the stadium Thursday, Aug. 31, at approximately 4 p.m.

Additionally, a group of F-16 fighter jets may fly over the Hill on Friday at approximately 4 p.m. as part of a cross-country training run.
