LAWRENCE — University of Kansas leaders, alumni, donors and community partners will gather April 24 to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking of KU’s Entrepreneurship Hub, a new, donor-funded facility operated by the School of Business and designed to serve students of all disciplines.

Chancellor Douglas A. Girod, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Arash Mafi, KU Endowment President Dan Martin and KU School of Business Dean Jide Wintoki are among those scheduled to attend and deliver brief remarks beginning at 4 p.m.

The event is closed to the public, but members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony at The Hub’s future site at 1420 Crescent Road.

KU Business leaders will be available for questions following the ceremony. Media members planning to attend are asked to email Lauren Cunningham, School of Business communications director, at lcunningham@ku.edu by noon April 23.

Members of the media who do not have a media parking permit for the Lawrence campus or who have questions about parking should email Erinn Barcomb-Peterson, KU director of news and media relations, at ebp@ku.edu.

The Entrepreneurship Hub is slated to open during the fall 2027 semester. Construction will begin in summer 2026 to reduce disruption at the nearby campus intersection during the remainder of the spring semester.

More information can be found at The Hub website.
