CEAE department to host 56th Annual Geotechnical Engineering Conference


LAWRENCE — On Nov. 7, the University of Kansas Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering, part of the School of Engineering, will host experts in the field of geotechnical engineering for a conference exploring the latest developments in the field.

“This year’s conference will focus on the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering research and practice,” said Jie Han, conference co-chair and Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor. “Attendees will learn updated soil models and specifications that enhance the accuracy and safety of project design and predictions, innovative technologies for addressing complex geotechnical challenges, and large-scale field tests and monitoring to assess foundation responses under load and during installation.”

The 56th Annual Geotechnical Engineering Conference will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kansas Union. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. with the first session starting at 8:30 a.m. Registration is required.
