KU Engineering department hosts 68th Annual Asphalt Paving Conference


LAWRENCE – On Dec. 5, the Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering within the University of Kansas School of Engineering will host experts in the field of asphalt paving engineering for a one-day conference exploring the latest developments in the field.

“We are very excited to host the 68th Annual Kansas Asphalt Paving Conference,” said Robert Parsons, professor and conference chair. “We look forward to hosting industry leaders and government partners in this learning and networking event.”

Many topics will be covered over the course of the day, including updates to the Kansas Department of Transportation by Greg Schieber, deputy secretary of transportation and state transportation engineer, and work zone safety perspectives by Lt. Mark Christesen of the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The 68th Annual Asphalt Paving Conference will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kansas Union. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. with opening remarks beginning at 8:30 a.m.
