KU Engineering will host 71st Annual Structural Engineering Conference


LAWRENCE — On March 5, the Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas will host experts in the field of structural engineering for a conference exploring the latest developments in the field.

“As one of the nation’s longest-running single-day conferences focused on structural engineering, this conference encourages professionals to examine forward-looking ideas, complex design challenges and high-profile projects from across the country,” said Jian Li, Deane E. Ackers Professor of Engineering and conference chair. “This year’s agenda highlights the future of the AEC workforce and the design and construction of landmark national projects such as the Las Vegas Sphere and the Brightline Florida high-speed rail corridor, alongside local highlights including the University of Kansas Booth Memorial Stadium.”

The 71st Annual Structural Engineering Conference will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kansas Union. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., with opening remarks at 8:15 a.m.
