KU launches Food Truck Wednesdays on Lawrence Campus in April
LAWRENCE — From burritos to burgers, the University of Kansas community on the Lawrence campus will be able to enjoy a diverse range of cuisines from food trucks throughout April.
The university will host Food Truck Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday in April. There will be four different trucks parked in different locations on campus:
- 2Hot2Handle: Kansas City barbecue
- Bryce’s Food Truck: Breaded chicken and barbecue
- M & D’s Family Recipes: Mexican
- Tina’s Truck: Burgers
The trucks will rotate locations each week:
- Northeast end of the parking lot in front of Ambler Student Recreation Center, 1740 Watkins Center Drive
- Circle drive north of Green Hall, 1535 W. 15th St.
- Oread Avenue driveway in front of the Jayhawk Welcome Center, 1266 Oread Ave.
- Parking lot behind/north of Bailey Hall, 1440 Jayhawk Blvd.
The trucks will only accept debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, tap-to-pay and cash as forms of payment.
KU is launching Food Truck Wednesdays as part of its “Increase Workplace Satisfaction” component of Jayhawks Rising, though students are also welcome to visit the trucks. The effort is the direct result of an employee’s continuous improvement suggestion to explore bringing more variety for on-campus food options.
Full menus, truck locations and updates are posted on the HR Food Truck page.
